The paper is cut into strips with a machete'...
...and then cut into about 2 inch square pieces.
Here a young man is helping to cut out the roofing paper pieces.
Here they begin to push the pieces of roofing paper on to the nails.
This will waterproof the nails and the roof where the nails are pounded in.
After lunch the carpenter pulled a crew together to cut the corregated sheet metal. Here he measures a piece.
When the length is measuered on both sides a cut is made with scissors.
Then a "streight" board is placed on the metal with a foot on it and it is torn to length.
Another view of the tearing.
When the piece is cut to length it is brought to to top and put into possition with help from underneath.
It then can be nailed down.
Completion of Day 4. Half of the roof is completed. The other side will be completed by the carpenter and his crew on the next day.
On the following Sunday Ray's and JR's went out to the building site and snapped this picture of the completed project.
